About the event

About Kevin Augello FRGS Kevin Augello FRGS, is a documentary filmmaker with a portfolio of work experience built up from over 30 years in the industry.

He has worked directly as a director and producer with many leading broadcasters, from Netflix, BBC, National Geographic, Discover to RedBull Media. With a passion for adventure travel and wildlife storytelling. This work has taken him to over 130 countries, on all seven continents, from climbing Mt Everest to driving the Pan-American Highway and filming a modified electric racing car.

In the last few years, Kevin has decided to focus all his attention on his YouTube Channel, having recently returned from Kilimanjaro exclusively for his channel. Kevin, was even asked by Dolby to shoot a 90 minute bike packing adventure in Iceland entirely shot on iPhone. Workshop info Never before have we been able to film our adventures in such quality and accessibility. But there is a craft to filmmaking beyond pressing the record button. A craft that within this short workshop we will unpack to reveal some fundamentals to take your adventure filmmaking to the next level.

The main difference between something ‘amateur’ to a ‘professional’ is the ability to tell a story with any tools at their disposal, from iPhone to Go-Pro it doesn't matter, it's what you capture that counts.

In this unique workshop, we will discover how to bring to life any adventure from simple notes before you have even set forth to how to edit your film once back.

From the kind of shots you will need, to how to talk to the camera (self-filming) to ‘interviewing’ teammates to shooting for voiceover when there are too many facts and figures about the place you are adventuring in. Everything you will need to take your own adventure filmmaking to the next level will be covered.

We will also explore the world of recording sound when wind and elements are kicking back.

By the end of this fun and practical workshop, we will have transformed your clips on your phone into a powerful, beautiful and above all memorable account of your adventures, whether it's for a film festival to appease sponsors, social media like YouTube or just something to look back upon.
